Get ready for the Long Course Weekend Yorkshire!
The sister event in Wales is the biggest multi-sport festival in Europe attracting over 11,000 athletes and 35,000 supporters from 56 nations annually. For the second year, the Long Course Weekend is coming to England and promises three incredible days of world-class sport from the idyllic market town of Masham which sits on the outskirts of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Sportives incorporate some of the sections of the Tour de Yorkshire, Tour De France and UCI courses.
Friday kicks off with the Yorkshire Dales Swim, meaning you can be immersed in nature in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Saturday will see cyclists start from Masham Market Square and take on the choice of 56 or 112 miles through rural countryside in the Yorkshire Dales Sportive.
Rounding up the weekend on Sunday, you have a range of distances from Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K to take in some of the spectacular surrounding countryside, returning to Masham where massive crowds await you on the famous red carpet finish line!
This event is part of Long Course Weekend Yorkshire.
It's exciting for the Long Course Weekend to return to Yorkshire, as a new addition to existing international fixtures in Wales, Mallorca, Belgium and New Zealand already in the family.
Based in Masham, the Long Course Weekend is expected to bring over 5,000 athletes, 20,000 supporters from 30 nations, to compete over 3 incredible days.
The first thing you should know is that LCW is not a triathlon event.
You can choose any of the disciplines and distances as individual events. It can be just a cycle event for you if that's what you want out of LCW.
If you do feel like doing all the full distances though and want to try and earn that famous fourth LCW medal, then there are two things you must do to achieve it:
2025 details are to be confirmed.
The venue is Masham Market Square unless specified otherwise:
These events are for anyone who feels they can complete the course. With generous cut-off times, fully stocked feed stations, and one heck of a party atmosphere on the finish line, you don't want to miss this.
Ideally road.
You can use any bike that is roadworthy and complies with the British Triathlon Federation rules. No tandems.
Road bikes are exactly that, bikes which are designed for use on the road. They typically feature a more aggressive racing position, a high saddle and dropped handlebars, that encourage a more aerodynamic posture with more weight over the front of the bike for more power. A stiff, rigid frame reduces energy loss to suspension and ensures maximum energy is transferred from you to the wheels. A gear ratio designed with high-power cycling in mind means you can put down power at close-to-speed. If you were racing a downhill slope style race, you wouldn't use a road bike, so similarly when cycling on roads, you wouldn't use a full-suspension rock chomper capable of tackling the Grand Canyon!
For the Sportives, Tri Bars are allowed on course.

Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a national protected landscape full of breathtaking windswept moorlands and steep river valleys, gently rolling pastoral landscapes, peaceful ancient woodland and tranquil expanses.
With plenty to see and do, the local area is the perfect spot to plan a break around taking part. There are cycle and run events taking place across the weekend so get involved and extend your stay.
The Yorkshire Dales Swim venue is to be confirmed.
Starting with the 1.2-mile swim on Friday you'll be supported by the gigantic crowds that gather for the official start to the weekend. Enter the water to fireworks and exit to a roaring crowd. Just remember that this is only day one.
Starting out early on day two from Pateley Bridge, with the start involving a lot of pyrotechnics. The challenging, comprehensively closed road course will take in some of the best of the Yorkshire Dales and will be serviced with a selection of feed stations and a lot of supporters. Finishing back at Masham with a huge crowd will see you end the second event of the weekend.
Taking athletes through some of the best of the Yorkshire Dales will be a challenge and an unbeatable way to end an incredible weekend. Will we see world records broken, people raising much-needed funds for charities and thousands of athletes ending their weekend to the massive waiting crowds? The atmosphere welcoming you to that finish line cannot be beaten.
Both 2.4 mile and 1.2 mile swimmers will have 2 hours to complete their distance.
There is an overall cut off for the event of 5pm. There is also a 12pm cut off for the first lap. Any athlete that will not make the 5pm cut-off will be collected in the sweep vehicle.
The cut-off for the all of the run events is 4pm.
Race pack with full details will be available to entrants 2 weeks prior to event.
