The Club’s aim is to promote goodwill and fellowship through recreational and competitive cycling with membership all across London.
London Clarion Cycle Club, founded in 1895 by readers of the Socialist newspaper the Clarion, has membership spread all across London, and a few members in Essex, Sussex and Kent. Club rides, which are mainly road cycling, often start in Bermondsey or a central London location depending on route and group leader for the ride. All rides are mixed ability with the Club ethos to never leave a rider behind, and averaging a pace of 10 to 11 mph.
Competitive members can take part in events including the Dunwich Dynamo, Dieppe Raid ‘Tour des Trois Vallees’ in France and Clarion Sunday in Nelson, Lancashire.
