Overview

Richmond Park Velo, a cycling club in west London, was set up to share the joys of cycling – freedom, health, fitness, camaraderie and, of course, cake!  We meet and start most of our rides in Richmond Park or Kingston, west London. If you want to join us, you only have to enjoy cycling, getting fitter and making friends. Of course, you also need a road bike with drop handlebars.

The club has 5 levels and caters for all cyclists from those with little experience up to advanced level. So whether you're new  to club cycling or want to train competitively and enter sportives with us, RPV is the group for you. The ethos of the club is collaborative and considerate riding – the team is stronger than the individual.

While some of the members race outside the club environment, we discourage racing on club rides where the stronger riders are expected to help the less strong ones by doing more work at the front rather than riding β€œoff the front”. We regroup after hills and stop for mechanicals and punctures. All our rides are organised into groups according to level with no more than six riders in each group. We always stop for a coffee and a snack half way round and often at the end too!
