Taunton Running Club has no fees to attend or run as they believe that running should be free for all to enjoy. They cater for all abilities from those just starting out, to regular runners.
Taunton Running Club welcomes runners of all abilities and the focus is on getting out there to meet others in an active way, whether that be turning up or running a race. It has a good split of women and men runners and welcomes well behaved under-18s to run with parents, and even dogs too.
The three club runs a week are split into pace friendly groups of up to fifteen people, meeting in a town centre car park to keep it simple. It also runs a 9 week Couch to 5k program with coaching on the basics of moving, breathing, strength and stretching.
The club has a lively social side with many friendships formed across the running community in Somerset and charity fundraising events held. A highlight in the club calendar is their Tinsel Run on the club night before Christmas where they get dressed up for a short run followed by mince pies and mulled cider.
