Join Rainbow Trust Children's Charity for the ultimate outdoor challenge, where you’ll push your limits and conquer the elements!
Are you up for a thrilling test of endurance that makes a difference? Join the Rainbow Trust Adventure Triple Challenge on 26 April 2025, in the stunning Lake District. You will cycle 31 miles, canoe 2 miles and hike 7.5 miles across breathtaking landscapes, all while helping to support families with a seriously ill child.
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete, a casual outdoor lover or perhaps you just want to try something new, the Adventure Triple Challenge offers an unforgettable experience in one of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes.
Cover some serious terrain in rugged landscapes, even if you're new to canoeing.
Snatch a selfie at the top of one of England's highest mountains.
Grab a fellow legend (or three) and achieve something epic together.
Event crew, canoes, equipment, fuel and medal are all included. Bike hire at an additional cost.

Support families caring for a seriously ill child.
All participants will attend an online safety briefing two weeks prior to the challenge where there'll be chance to ask any questions.
18:00 - 20:00 | Register at the event hub where you will be given your event pack inclusive of event number, safety pins and waterproof transition bag. All kit that is needed for the boat and boot phases needs to be put in the transition bags when registering. These bags will be transported to transition areas ahead of event.

The bike sections are all on road so road or hybrid bikes would be ideal however mountain bikes are also permitted.

There is a Gridserve electric car charging point located next to the event hub.
Information on accessing Ullswater by train or coach is readily available.
The day starts with the first part of the bike phase, beginning at Newbiggin and extending to Glenridding (14 miles, 234m ascent).
Upon reaching Glenridding, teams transition to the boats phase and embark on a 2 mile circular route on the waters of Ullswater.
Following the boats phase, teams face the steepest section of the bike phase as they cycle to Greenside Mines (2 mile, 160m ascent).
The boots phase involves a 7.5 mile out-and-back hike, summiting Hellvellyn which, at 712m, is England's third-highest peak.
After completing the hike, teams return by bike along the shores of Ullswater to the finish line (15 miles, 202m ascent).
Once you reach the finish line you can take in the scenic views, receive a medal for your achievement, a complimentary alcoholic or soft drink and have a celebration BBQ!
Rainbow Trust Childrenβs Charity supports families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker, giving them practical and emotional support.
When you sign up for the Adventure Triple Challenge, you are enabling Rainbow Trust to provide practical and emotional support to families with a seriously ill child, when they need it, for as long as it is needed. When a child suffers from serious illness, family life is turned upside down and time becomes more precious than ever. Rainbow Trust Family Support Workers become a trusted and constant person in family life, helping them to face and make the most of each new day.
16-17 year olds need to be accompanied by an adult throughout.
