The 16th Century house in Northamptonshire was a palace to King James I and then a prison to his son King Charles I after his defeat in the Civil War.
Now a family home, the grounds are used for exclusive events and it's gardens are loved by all.
The traffic free run laps follows a scenic trail through the grounds and surrounding farmland with fantastic views of Holdenby House.
The transition zone lines the majestic driveway leading up to the house and after picking up your bike, you'll head out of the grounds to complete laps of a rolling bike course around fast-riding country roads.
The second run completes another lap of the trail before finishing in front of the country house.
The Standard can also be tackled as a relay, with team members tackling a discipline each.
This event is part of ATW Holdenby House Duathlon.

Fantastic event - Marshalls were all superb and kept me going when it got tough! Paul S
Brilliantly and thoughtfully organised. The cream on the cake was the incredibky supportive and helpful marshals. I do not consider these events cheap but now have a far better appreciation of the planning, resource and cost needed to make it such a good event. I wouldn't hesitate to do another ATW event. I like a tough undulating course so this was great for me. Would definitely do it again. Mark T
I absolutely love this race. It's a brilliant setting and course. Your staff/volunteers were really friendly and helpful (really appreciated marshals warning us of tight/leafy corners in wet conditions). James M
