The challenge which starts and finishes at Llangorse Community Centre follows the high ridges of the challenging Black Mountains.
The Black Dragon Challenge first took place in April 2019 and replaced the Black Mountains Roundabout (BMR) which had been running on an annual basis since 1982.
The challenge which starts and finishes at Llangorse Community Centre (GR SO 13322770) (W3W: cocktail.countries.overlaid) follows the high ridges of the challenging Black Mountains taking in the highest point at Waun Fach at 811 metres.
There are 3 routes available, 28 miles (46k), 22 miles (36k), and 16 miles (27k). All three routes visit the highest point in the Black Mountains, Waun Fach at a height of 811 metres.
The event is organised and run by Brecon Mountain Rescue Team supported by Newport Outdoor Group, and all the funds raised go directly to the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team.
Sponsors: LOWA / Wigwam holidays / Brecon Carreg Water / Brecon Town Council.
