It's Grim Up North

This event is part of the It's Grim Up North calendar of runs, offering a range of distances and levels of difficulty so there is something for everyone.

Famous for its low-key approach, all runners will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly chat.

The aim is to get you out running, help you enjoy the beautiful countryside with great camaraderie and for you to experience the sense of well-being you get when you cross that finish line.

You'll be shown that the North is anything but Grim.

Parking

Parking is not available at the Fisherman Inn. The best place to park is in Bingley Town Centre and walk down the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to the registration point, it’s about three-quarters of a mile – a good warm up.

This route is run along mainly good canal towpath.

There are road crossings but these will be signposted cautioning you the runner and all other road users.

Always take your time and extra care at the road crossings.

Water and feed stations approx. every 3-4 miles.

Marshals will be placed along the route. 

Cut off time

6.5 hours.

An early start may be available upon request for those who may miss the cut off.

Headphones

The use of headphones is not endorsed for the following safety reasons:

  • Runners cannot always hear the marshals’ instructions
  • Runners may not hear cyclists behind them and stray into their path
  • Bone conduction earphones are allowed
