This is North Derbyshire Running Club's flagship race of the year, dating back to 1986, where it started life as the 'Coalite 10K', just after NDRC was formed.

The routes have varied over the years and it has been a staple in our running club calendar every year, apart from during Covid. This year, we've got an exciting move, with the course starting and ending at Bolsover Castle. Apart from being a stunning local landmark, clearly seen from all around, it's a fantastic opportunity for us to form a unique partnership with English Heritage that we hope to continue for many years. Our community partnerships are the backbone of our club. The route, over a 10K distance, is largely rural and flat(ish) - well, in Derbyshire standards! - with net downhill on the way out and a corresponding climb on the way back in. We raise over £5000 a year for local causes, from this run, and is a fantastic race much coveted by other clubs around us, thanks to great team spirit and atmosphere on the day and a fast, interesting course. Finishers have an option to buy a fabulous race shirt and this year, there will be finisher medals.
