The first thing you need to know about the Chasewater Easter Egg races is that it fully supports racing fun! Some of the runners choose to dress up as their favourite Easter character and whilst it's by no means mandatory, it does create a wonderful atmosphere for this Spring race! Runners can take part in the either a 20K race, a 15K race, a 10K race or 5K race but each one of them is a racing gem you'll want to return to year after year.
Juniors have their own dedicated event so that they can experience the delights of race day for themselves. This will give them a wonderful introduction to the sport and help foster a lifelong passion. The kids race is approximately 0.6km and is a great way to get the whole family involved this holiday weekend. The junior run will not be chip timed but the team looks forward to cheering each and every one of them across the finish line.
This event is part of Chasewater Easter Egg Challenge.
Trail shoes are recommended however, your favourite running shoes will also be fine for this race.

The Innovation Centre, just off the A5. The Race HQ is located close to the Innovation Centre at Chasewater Country Park, just off the A5. You can cross the footbridge to the event but we would recommend arriving by car.
The Chasewater Easter Egg 10k & 5k takes place at Chasewater Country Park and is accessible by car and, of course, by bicycle and on foot. Parking is located at the site, so please follow the car park marshal instructions.
The Innovation Centre is located just off the A5 and is signposted onto Pool Road. Do not try and enter the park via the A5195 as this route is a single lane track blocked by a barrier at the end, which we do not have access to and turning is extremely difficult!
The nearest railway station is located at Cannock, but you will then need to get a taxi to the event.
Please enter the park from Watling Road. The postcode for sat navs is WS8 7NL. Please note that sometimes sat navs sometimes take people to the wrong side of the water. Chasewater Country Park is signposted from the A5 near Cannock & Brownhills.
This race uses the undulating paths and trails around Chasewater Reservoir. The race will start just outside the Innovation Centre and after a short loop around the centre, runners will head clockwise around the reservoir and cover four laps for the 20k race, three laps for th 15k race, two laps for 10k race and one lap for the 5k race. Due to the multi terrain nature of the event, we are unable to get a certificate of course accuracy, but the route is as close to 20k/15k10k/5k that GPS technology will allow.
Due to new UKA rules that came into force on 01 April 2024, in the ear and over the ear headphones are no longer permitted at running events unless otherwise stated. Bone-conducting headphones are permitted however, if you do choose to wear bone-conducting headphones, then we ask that you have the volume turned down low enough to hear the marshal instructions.
As well as a water station at the end of the race, there will be an additional water station at the start of each lap for the 10K, 15K & 20K. Runners should ensure that they are fully hydrated and also consider carrying their own water.
This event is doing its best to operate sustainably.
To help reduce the carbon footprint of this race, we would like to encourage all our runners to bring their own camel packs or reusable cups for this race. Our teams at the water stations will be happy to fill any receptacle that you might bring with you so that you stay hydrated and racing fit! If you are able to car share, then this would be wonderful!
