The race is hugely popular among runners, and comes highly recommended for its great course, great atmosphere, enthusiastic marshals, the event village and being well organised.
It is a major fundraising event for Havens Hospices. Entries will help support this remarkable charity and provide palliative nursing and supportive care to children, young people and adults living with complex or incurable conditions in Essex.
This event is part of Chelmsford Marathon & Half Marathon.

Central Park, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 0FQ
Central Park, which is less than half a mile from Chelmsford Railway Station, in the town centre.
This is an 'out and back' course. It is a flatter route than the full marathon, but participants will enjoy running through Central Park and out into stunning countryside, finishing back at Central Park.
In the ear and over the ear headphones are not permitted.
Bone conducting headphones are permitted however, you are asked to have the volume turned down low enough to hear the marshal instructions.
This event is doing its best to work sustainably to ensure that the carbon footprint of the race is kept as low as possible.
Join runners as they go race, run, jog and walk through Central Park and into the Essex countryside in support of Little Havens, the children's hospice of Essex. Little Havens provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people living with complex or incurable conditions from Essex and the surrounding boroughs. Most of the babies, children and young people they care for have conditions that limit their life expectancy, making it even more important for them and their families to make every day of their lives together count, and Little Havens does just that, thanks to your donations.
