Just amazing! Superb event from start to finish. Brilliant organisation and every volunteer was great. Didn't feel like 1000s of runners as very slick. Unique course and north hill was epic. Loved the people chucking out bags of sweets halfway. Stadium fantastic for start and finish with lots of toilets. Great medal and t-shirt. Definitely do again - one of my fave races. Graham B
Utterly love this race, it's probably my favourite half yet, this year was my 4th year running it and although I didn't get a PB, I used it as a training run for Paris. Plenty of parking in the football ground, great atmosphere, warm-up area, doesn't take long at all to get over the start line, support along the way is good, nice scenic flattish course, and one big hill in it around 2 miles in, and other than that mainly flat, good value for money, excellent medal t-shirt and goody bag. I would highly recommend this race to anyone looking for a half marathon. Vicci M
The local support was outstanding, with lots of encouragement on the hilly sections, and only quiet down the country lanes. Kyla M
Love this half, other than Great North Run, this has to be my favourite half, this was my third year running it and I always run it as a training run for my marathons. Close to home for me, great route, very well supported, great value for money, well marshalled and plenty of water stations! Highly recommended. Vicci M
From start to finish the race was excellently organised. Attention to detail in all aspects made the race extremely successful from a runner's point of view. From the location, registration, route, water points and the medal. A very worthwhile race and the value for money was second to none. Thank you Colchester. Bobby W
A well-organised welcoming event with some great support across the course. The route starts and finishes at the football stadium with plenty of spaces available. Chris W
Not a flat course but a unique one as you run through the UK's oldest town. Gregory H
It's a good race, the bling is immense and the goody bag is usually stocked with a standard banana, crisps and a Mars bar plus leaflets. The t-shirt is a decent cotton one, and the last three I've had are all different colours, however because it's cotton, it's probably not one that you would use for future sporting activities particularly.
