5km Trail Run - over 11 years. 10km Trail Run - over 15 years. Half Marathon Trail Run - over 17 years. We have something for everyone with a mixture of distances to suit all ages & abilities. Culzean Castle and Country Park, situated in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland, is a glorious estate set within 642 acres with gardens, beaches, woods and trails making it a perfect location for Wild Deer trail runs. Culzean Country Park was once the playground of David Kennedy, 10th Earl of Cassillis – a man who was keen to impress with his wealth and status. Opulent to the extreme, the park is planted with conifers and beech, sculpted around miles of sandy coastline dotted with caves, and finished off with a Swan Pond, an ice house, flamboyant formal gardens and fruit-filled glasshouses. The castle itself is perched on the Ayrshire cliffs, incorporating everything the earl could wish for in his country home. It was designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century and is filled to the turrets with treasures that tell the stories of the people who lived here. This event is Canicross friendly and we allow one controlled dog per runner. There will be Live Chip-Timing through Timing Up North. All Finishers will be rewarded with Wild Deer Merchandise, a Medal, snack and a drink. Finishers of the Family Mile will get a Medal, drink & a snack. There is the option to purchase an Event T-Shirt for £12 when you sign up.
This event is part of Culzean Castle Trail Runs - 5K, 10K & 1/2 Marathon.
