Darwen Half Marathon

The favourite "rollercoaster" half marathon returns for 2025, bigger (but not longer) and better than ever with the new down hill start !! This undulating measured, chipped and licensed circular route has 1411 feet ascent taking you from Darwen through Edgeworth, Chapeltown, and Egerton before heading back towards Darwen with the last mile, gentle downhill to the finish. The race starts and ends at Blacksnape Playing Fields in Darwen. The route is run in an anti-clockwise direction, with left turns making up almost the entire course. The route is well marshalled and features three water stations. If the weather is good, you’ll have a clear view of Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell beyond Blackburn. On an exceptionally clear day, you can even see as far as Ingleborough and the Lake District!
