Leaving the hall you will initially be on some nice trail followed by some tough field edges (and sometimes water!). You run a long straight cutting right through the wood with idyllic trail views, although at this time of year it is often somewhat muddy underfoot. Soon enough you hit an open track and with a slight decline it is a great chance to really stretch the legs out!
Looking left you then cut through a field to head towards the ford at Elkesley. Crossing at the bridge (or right through the stream!) you via right on a minor road / track to remain on the outskirts of the village.Soon enough you are dropping right to head down to run into and through Elkesly wood.Surfacing to a short but challenging incline up a track you arrive at Haughton Farm where you keep left to head down towards the road.
