The Crag Rat Run takes its name from the term for a person born in Knaresborough - a Crag Rat. The route starts at Knaresborough Cricket Club and takes runners along trails descending the crag to a tarmacked section alongside the River Nidd; mixed terrain leads to a trail through woodland before a fast tarmaced section returns runners to a narrow path adjacent to the river. Crossing the bridge near the Petryfying Well, there is a further riverside section before ascending back up the crag to the finish line where a medal and goodies will be presented to all finishers. Approximately half of the race is on tarmac. An email with up-to-date information on the course and conditions will be sent to all runners shortly after online entries close.
