Ability level

These events can be entered by anyone who feels they are capable of competing. There is gender separation, so men and women compete for first place in their respective category. Athletes with a registered disability will need to contact the race office to discuss whether the race is suitable and safe to enter.

Bike Type

Ideally road.

You can use any bike that is roadworthy and complies with the British Triathlon Federation rules. You can use electric bikes on the 42-mile distance only. No tandems.

bike type

Road bikes are exactly that, bikes which are designed for use on the road. They typically feature a more aggressive racing position, a high saddle and dropped handlebars, that encourage a more aerodynamic posture with more weight over the front of the bike for more power. A stiff, rigid frame reduces energy loss to suspension and ensures maximum energy is transferred from you to the wheels. A gear ratio designed with high-power cycling in mind means you can put down power at close-to-speed. If you were racing a downhill slope style race, you wouldn't use a road bike, so similarly when cycling on roads, you wouldn't use a full-suspension rock chomper capable of tackling the Grand Canyon!

Tri Bars

For the Sportives, Tri Bars are allowed on course.

About the area

With awards and accolades for the quality of its coastline, Pembrokeshire is heaven for swimmers, beachcombers, wildlife-watchers, walkers and outdoor adventurers. Its towns, villages and campsites are fantastic for family holidays, so bring your little ones. Chances are they’ll like it so much that when they have kids of their own, they’ll do exactly the same.

area

The county is home to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the only national park in the United Kingdom established primarily because of the coastline; the Park occupies more than a third of the area of the county and includes the Preseli Hills in the north as well as the 186-mile (299 km) Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

NOTCH® is the fashionable, stylish, go-anywhere bracelet designed for Notches (think of them as charms, but different!). And each engraved Notch you add to your bracelet, tells your story of personal achievement.

Every LCW Notch has been designed and specially engraved to celebrate each one of the individual challenges that come together to form the Long Course Weekend.

So if you're thrilled by your latest LCW achievement, wear your success with pride and celebrate by adding a Notch to your complementary NOTCH® Bracelet, engraved with your story of success.

Notches are made from brass, stainless steel or anodised aluminium. They're hand polished and engraved using laser-guided technology for a clean, long-lasting result so achievements are never forgotten.

Notches are designed to fit perfectly onto one of our complementary NOTCH® Bracelets, made from durable sports cord or premium napa leather braid. They're stylish, colourful and available in four sizes and fourteen funky styles. Each bracelet has a unique stainless steel clasp, featuring two neodymium magnets locking together with a safe and secure, super-strong snap.

If you haven't yet done this event, it is a must! Rosie T

I loved this event, it's fantastic starting at Pembroke Castle then running some wonderfully scenic country lanes back to Tenby. It's worth running it just for the views over Manorbier. Jordan F

This event was organised superbly from start to finish. All required kit is provided in registration in advance (helmet stickers, bike label, race tattoos etc...) along with course maps. Cara S
