The race will start on the River Thames right next to the Wraysbury Skiff and Boating Club.

It's a lapped course on one of the most scenic parts of the River Thames and it's all completely 'runnable' along a lovely stretch of the Thames Path trail.

Magna Carta runner

The course is extremely well marked so you won't lost and there will be marshals at the key points. All runners will receive a bespoke Magna Carta finishers medal, and prizes awarded too.

The course was along well established river paths by the Thames. It was one small out and back lap then two of a larger out and back. The trails were very well established, only a tiny muddy section which was easy to navigate. Parking was right next to the start for a small fee. Bib collection and toilets were easy to find and access.

You would not realise the outstanding achievements of the race director as he was so down to earth. He has done over 400 marathons and I’ve since come across his name in running books I have read. He and his girlfriend even helped me out by looking after my dog Bailey so I could run as I came from Hereford, but really wanted the impressive Magna Carta medal!

It was a small, but lovely event, with a rock choir to see us off at the start, lovely atmosphere. There was no pressure at all and one man called Nile walked the entire alternative option of the marathon, within the generous cut off. It was nice to mix with the runners from the other distances.

The Runnymede area was beautiful and gave me the opportunity to visit the monuments opposite the finish, easily as a memorable warm down. A lovely little National Trust cafe too, nearby where you can sit and admire the beautiful countryside the course is set in. I will definitely return. Debbie Davies, 2023
