You'll enjoy the chance to have a look round the lovely Yorkshire village of Knaresborough.

It's Grim Up North

This event is part of the It's Grim Up North calendar of runs, offering a range of distances and levels of difficulty so there is something for everyone.

Famous for its low-key approach, all runners will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly chat.

The aim is to get you out running, help you enjoy the beautiful countryside with great camaraderie and for you to experience the sense of well-being you get when you cross that finish line.

Having completed your race the type of goodies everyone wants will await you!

You'll be shown that the North is anything but Grim.

You cannot park at the start/finish area, but you can park over the Bridge in Conyngham long stay car park, council charges apply. The address is: Conyngham Car Park, Bond End, Knaresborough, HG5 9AY.

Underfoot

The route is undulating. The route is mainly on good path, private road, disused railway track and 150 yards of field, the field could become very muddy if there has been a lot of rain beforehand, but it is only a very short stretch of field.

Road crossings

There are a couple of small road crossings on the route - please take extra care. Marshals are not allowed to stop traffic. The roads will be marked by a sign.

Support

There will be water/feed stations along the route every 3 miles. Marshals will be placed along the route at the turnaround points and on the water/feed stations.

Cut off time

6.5 hours.

Headphones

The use of headphones is not endorsed for the following safety reasons:

  • Runners cannot always hear the marshals’ instructions
  • Runners may not hear cyclists behind them and stray into their path
  • Bone conduction earphones are allowed
