You and all participants will attend an online event briefing approximately two to three weeks before the event. Here you’ll get a full safety briefing and overview ahead of the event, as well as the chance to ask any questions before travelling to the event base.
The day before the event, you’ll need to arrive at our event base in Llanberis to check in and register ahead of the event. Here you’ll receive your race pack along with your event t-shirt and drop your bags off ahead of the next morning.
At allocated start times, teams will set off to complete all three elements of the challenge together. Once you’ve crossed the finish line, you’ll celebrate in style with a complimentary meal and fizz!
This challenge is no walk in the park but it's do-able by anyone who is willing to train for it and who can last for 7-10 hours. See if you've got what it takes.
You will receive a training guide in your welcome pack.
Road, hybrid or e-bikes.
If you’re bringing your own bike along to the event we recommend either a road or hybrid bike.
Being an on-road route, mountain bikes wouldn’t be our first recommendation; however, if this is what you’ve trained on and you feel confident on it, we’re happy for you to use one. The range of gears may help you with some of the hills.
Teams using E-bikes would be excluded from the Fastest Finishers Awards to make this fair to other teams.
There's a bike hire service which includes:
Parc Padarn
Llanberis
Caernarfon

You’ll start and finish at the event hub which is located within Parc Padarn in Llanberis.
It’s up to you and your team where you stay the night before the event. Upon registering you will receive some recommendations in and around Llanberis and the surrounding towns of Bangor and Caernarfon. There is something for everyone and all budget types.
The event usually takes between 7 – 10 hours to complete.
Starting from the event base in Llanberis, you and your team will embark on a stunning 24-mile cycle through Snowdonia National Park (Eryri). The route takes you along the shores of Llyn Padarn, through the beautiful Welsh countryside and charming villages with the Peak of Snowdon looming in the distance.
You’ll then get into your mountain gear and hike to the Summit Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), the highest mountain in England and Wales at 1,085m. The hike is the longest element which takes 4-7 hours on average to complete.
For the last leg of the challenge, you’ll kayak 4km on the pristine waters of Llyn Padarn using two person sit on top kayaks. Team work makes the dream work on this phase!
At the finish you’ll celebrate your achievement in style with your team, fellow participants and family / friends with a complimentary post-event celebration meal, and a glass of bubbly!
Each participant will receive an eco-friendly event t-shirt.
All food is sourced locally.
See the Event details section for full information.

Such a great day led by a great team! Vici B – 2024 participant
Taking on the personal challenge was great, doing these three activities back to back was a mental and physical challenge – but hugely rewarding. It's a great way to push yourself whilst also raising money for such an important cause. James C – 2024 participant
It is a privilege to be able to take part in this event. The charity are incredible. It’s a tough challenge, but a very enjoyable day! Katie G – 2024 participant
Having the relationship with the MDUK event team is great and it’s nice to see them whenever we take on one of their events. We love the Pedal Paddle Peak challenge itself (we’ve done both the Lake District and Snowdon now) and the camaraderie of all taking part too. Definitely coming back to take on PPP again. Lee G – 2024 participant
What an amazing experience, made even better by supporting a great cause. Nick B –2024 participant
