Overview

You are expected to navigate the route yourself. You can download the routes beforehand.

The route follows the Portland section of the South West Coastal Path. The path is marked on fingerpost signs by an Acorn symbol and is a well-trodden track for the majority of the way.

The basic principle is to ‘keep the sea on your left and the land on your right’ for loop 1 and the opposite for loop 2 and you will not go far wrong.

You will have check-in points at the feed stations, dotted around the island as usual, to make sure you have completed the entire course. This remains the same as previous years.

Challenging but worthwhile A great day out, on a hard course. Well marshalled and enjoyable. Dan Connolly

8th time that run the marathon so guess I like it. Very hard and six hours always in your head as a challenge, but gets me training in January rather than that dry January nonsense : ) Quentin Brocklebank

Stunning scenery, great atmosphere, brilliant marshalls and one hell of a challenge. Thank you. From start to finish it was simply wonderful. This year the weather was perfect for one of the most challenging Adventure Marathons around the UK coast. Well organised from start to finish it was just brilliant. I'm seriously considering for next year as it is a mighty challenge every time and 2025 would be my eighth Portland Coastal Marathon. Neil Biles

Physically hard and technical with beautiful scenery Faultless, Bustinskin are so organised. Even the good weather turned up :) Neil Worthington

Stunningly savage! Anon

Brilliant event! A really well organised event, with lovely marshalls and amazing scenery, I will be back! Richard Slater

Another great event. Hard n tough. Michael Tizard

Four seasons in one day! You will not get a PB. It is hard work. You will not do a more varied, scenic or satisfying race than this one. Sign up only if you dare! Anon

A tough marathon with stunning views. Anon

The Best! Don’t change a thing, it was spot on. Adam Frame
