The only way is up with these Half Marathon/Marathon/Ultra distance races along the Offas Dyke footpath!
The new addition - the 'Ultra' finishes at the summit of Cyrn y Brain above the Horseshoe Pass, and is a distance of 32 Miles in length.
Starting at Prestatyn seafront, the National Trail waymarkers are followed up into the hills on the edge of the town and continue in a Southerly direction, with the scenery and terrain becoming more and more beautiful, and challenging as you go! The registration process will require you to choose between 1 of 2 start times for each distance - with those taking more time going off an hour before those who will complete more quickly.
This event is part of Sea 2 Summit | Offa's Dyke Half/Full/Ultra.
A mandatory kit list is readily available.

For hilly and trail ultra-distance events (like this one) there is more onus on the participant to navigate to some degree. However, it uses an established waymarked route and GPX files will be provided wherever possible, that you can use on the day, in addition to the event map and information sheet provided at registration.

Is this the toughest half in the UK!? Proper, fair kit check. Well marked route if you are paying attention and have downloaded the gpx as well! Took me an hour longer than a road half marathon. Peter Lester-Owen
Orientation! A definite need to be able to read a map, we found it very easy to lose the Offa's Dyke path in parts. Those tough climbs reward you with some amazing views, simply beautiful. Lindsey Black
