This extension is 5.5 miles into the route and will be open for runners only. There will be a cut-off time for the longer route, which will be confirmed on the day. It is a cross-country run / walk over varied terrain through the beautiful Leicestershire Wolds countryside using footpaths and sections of private land. This year the route will head North encompassing: Wymeswold, Willoughby-on-the-Wolds, Rempstone, Hoton Hills, Prestwold, Burton-on-the-Wolds and Walton-on-the-Wolds. The event is more of a personal challenge against the terrain, weather conditions and distance rather than a race. The event and route are planned, manned and marshalled by the people of Seagrave village. It is a major community event. Water and food stops are provided along the route and there are toilets in certain locations. Dogs are welcome and catered for. At the finish, soup, a roll, and apple crumble with custard are available for all runners and walkers. Medical personnel will be on hand and a lift back to the village hall for those in real need can be arranged. Proceeds are donated to a number of local charities and the Royal British Legion. The event regularly sells out, so to avoid disappointment, register early!
