The Calderdale Hike | 36 Mile Run

17, 26 & 36 mile routes, open to both runners and walkers. Set in the beautiful high Pennine valleys of Calderdale, the routes run over tracks across the surrounding moors with stunning views of the area. There are, however, some steep ascents and descents as the route takes you from moor top to moor top. The long route of 36 miles involves some 5500 feet of ascent, whilst the medium route of 26 miles has 3800 feet of ascent. The new short route of 17 miles has 2600 feet of ascent. The routes start and finish at Sowerby St Peter's Cricket Club, St Peter´s Avenue, Sowerby, HX6 1DF. This is the Hike HQ. As some of the terrain is harsh, the organizing committee recommends that navigation skills are required, especially if the weather is inclement.
