The North Lakes Half Marathon

The North Lakes New Year Half Marathon returns after a year off. Set in the base of the stunning Lorton valley, you will be surrounded by lakeland fells on a course that is quite gentle by Cumbrian standards, on quiet rolling roads with no "major" hills. For 2025 we are very pleased to be working with Wild Deer Events on the new layout of the race. The event will still be timed and supported by local company, Timing Up North. The new layout will be an improved route starting and finishing in Cockermouth Town Centre, taking in this wonderful part of the Lakes. Most of the route is on the quite country lanes through the stunning Lorton Valley with epic views across to the Lakes. There will also be a fantastic Town Centre Finish where spectators can watch you across that finish line. All race finishers will get a Medal, Event Merchandise (buff, socks or coffee tumbler) a snack & a drink. There’s also the option to buy an event t-shirt on entry for just £10.00. This one is not to be missed in 2025!! (This is a running road race and there is a 3 hour cut-off due to the road closures in place for the Event.) Places are once again limited so make sure you sign up early!
