The Winter Railway Ultra | 3/4 Marathon

The Railway Ultra was such a success it will return in 2024 with The Winter Railway Ultra in 2025 and the Summer event in 2024. The route takes runners along the banks of the River Severn between Ironbridge and Bridgnorth, along the disused railway line, where the views of the river are outstanding along with hints at it’s previous industrial heritage. You have the choice of running 9, 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon) 19 (3/4 Marathon), 28, or 37 miles. Each out and back lap is 9.4 miles and there will be a well-stocked aid station every 4.7 miles. There is a 7 hour cut off for the event, which gives plenty of time to enjoy the views. HQ is situated at TF8 7JF on the disused-railway behind The Woodbridge Public House. Parking is a 10 minute walk away at the Coalport China Museum and Coalport YHA (charges apply). If you are interested in staying in the area after the race, there are 4 pubs within a mile of the start on the river: The Woodbridge Inn; The Shakespeare (with rooms); The Brewery (cheap good food); and The Boat Inn. The Coalport YHA is also within 1 mile of the start.
