Vale of Clwyd 5K
10:30
Age 11 & over
£17
- 5 km multi terrain running
Event overview
This event is based at the Southern end of the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, from the popular and thriving Caravan Park and Cafe at Llanbenwch, near Ruthin.
The loop starts and finishes at the Caravan Park, utilises minor roads and public footpaths, with the odd short (gentle) climb, though for the most part you can stretch your legs on a pretty flat route!
The race will be electronically timed, there'll be category prizes, and all participants shall receive a medal for their efforts.
There is a wonderful Cafe to enjoy before and afterwards, great facilities for runners and spectators, and the Vale of Clwyd 5K will be a great way to kick off the year.

The route is exactly 5K, multi-terrain in nature, with a nice mix of minor road and trail to make for an interesting run in lovely surroundings, with fantastic views. Really enjoyed it. Roy Johnson
A must do race for all trail runners. Ample parking, cracking race route with great scenery. A well organised event. Hoping to run this again! Jason Thomas
Great setting, challenging in places with gate and styles but great being a multi terrain run. John Pirie
Friendly and fun. Susie Trow
The Vale of Clwyd 5k run I was a great event for runners of all abilities, set in the picturesque countryside of North Wales. I found the route typically showcases the stunning scenery of the Vale of Clwyd, offering a relatively flat with a few icy patches and trails of the terrain tricky in parts although accessible course The running community atmosphere is a standout feature, with friendly organisers and local support creating a welcoming environment. Whether you’re an experienced runner aiming for a personal best or a novice looking for a scenic way to stay active, this event is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the local landscape and community. Beautiful and enjoyable. Kayley Hughes
A great race. The organisation was excellent, the marshals friendly and encouraging, the course was a delight. A nice medal. Thoroughly enjoyed this and would do it again. Patricia Wright
