Be your best in 2025!
Loved by Bristolians and beyond, the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run is known as the best in the South West – and for good reason.
Each year, thousands of runners push their perseverance and passion to the limit and take on Bristol’s super-scenic 10K and half marathon routes. If stunning views, inspiring history and graffiti murals are your thing, then the Great Bristol Run is right up your street.
Starting in the heart of the city, runners will pass some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and hear the incredible local support all along the route, before a grandstand finish in Millennium Square.
But it’s not just the inspiring scenery that attracts runners from far and wide: the fast, flat course also makes this running event perfect for those on the hunt for a new personal best – or just looking to get to the finish line.
Last year sold out, so book your place on the start line early!
These charities have places in the event. To secure your place, select a charity and provide your details.
Please note: this is a provisional timetable and is subject to change.
The Great Bristol Run is suitable for wheelchair users. There is a question on the entry form that asks if you are a wheelchair user and if you will be participating in a self-propelled racing wheelchair, or if you will be participating in a standard wheelchair and will be assisted (pushed).
The Business Challenge is a corporate running challenge in the biggest cities across the UK. It’s open to organisations of all shapes and sizes, is suitable for groups large or small (minimum team of 4) and is great for all ages and abilities. If you’re tired of cringey teambuilding exercises, it’s a great way to invest in workforce wellbeing for a happier and healthier team.
The Half marathon route takes runners past the vibrant waterfront and out along the beautiful and peaceful Avon Gorge passing under the world-famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, before joining the 10K route at Spike Island.

Taking part in this event for charity is hugely beneficial to the charities and gives the runner advantages too, from supporting a cause that is close to your heart to securing a place in this highly sought-after event and much more.
Committing to raising money for charity gives you motivation to get outside and run, plus all of these extras which will elevate your event experience:
Charities know that raising money is all part of the challenge, which is why they provide advice, branded materials and a personalised online fundraising page to help the donations roll in. Think videos for social media, branded imagery and testimonials from previous runners.
Whether this is your first run or your fifth, you'll need to train for it! You'll receive an in-depth training plan with guidance, plus many charities have access to expert coaches and elite runners too, who can provide exclusive tips for your race preparation. Experts include Runningwithus, Full Potential and Olympic champs.
When you show up on the day, people need to be able to see clearly that you're supporting a charity. Most charities will give you a branded and personalised t-shirt or vest to run in on the big day, and often a training top too.
When you're partway through your run and your energy is flagging, what you need is a boost from cheering spectators to keep you moving. Many charities set up a cheer station along the route, keeping an eye out for you to send up a huge cheer as you run past!
Refreshments, post-race massage and meeting place are often provided by charities for their runners. This is the perfect way to recover alongside other people who have run for that same cause.
You won't be the only person running for that charity, so it's well worth meeting other runners through the charity's invite-only social media pages! You can organise to meet up for training runs, chat with the charity's expert coaches and share tips and stories with each other to keep the motivation levels running high.
Charities buy places in this event, then give them to runners who agree to raise money for the charity โ these are called charity places. Charity places are a great way to support a good cause and get a place in the event, especially if general entries are full.
The Great Bristol Run and charity fundraising go hand-in-hand - which charity will you run for?
Bristol, I love you so much and Great Run what a fantastic experience you gave me for my very first race, I will be back!
Very well organised event, Great Run do a fantastic job. Nice medal and goodie bag, well-supported route. It's a staple in the run calendar.
A great experience that must be tried by anyone who likes to run! Fast and flat, it's ideal for achieving that PB! Great views of the city.
I'd definitely recommend this race to anyone looking to do a 10K race and get the feel for a 'big' running event.
Loved everything about it, the support, course, medal. One of my favourite runs.
A fantastic event that I will never forget. Can't wait for next year.
I truly believe it's all about believing in yourself. My only regret is I didn't do this event years ago.
