#planetpositiveevents

This event has commited to becoming a fully sustainable experience.

The passion of participants never fails to inspire. Whether you are a competitive athlete striving for a new PB, or running your first 5K; the aim is for you to have a great experience.

Creating safe, interesting, and challenging events is always at the top of the agenda. Many routes take place in scenic environments, so perhaps it’s not surprising that this event is passionate about protecting the natural world.

This event has partnered with Climategames, to help advise, encourage, and facilitate the commitment to sustainability. By choosing One Race, every run, swim or cycle event that you compete in will be contributing to planting trees, removing plastic from the ocean, or sequestering carbon from the atmosphere.

Sustainability

  • Plant a tree

A tree will be planted for every participant who takes part in this event; simple as that!

  • Single-use plastic

Single-use plastics are cut out wherever possible, and where that isn’t feasible, plastic waste will be sorted and recycled.

  • Wooden medals

The sustainable OneRace medals are wooden rather than metal, because it’s less energy-intensive to make a wooden medal as well as being a renewable material.

  • Climate events

By joining this events and logging your activity on the Climategames app, your physical effort will be rewarded by more than just improved personal health. Your activities will unlock ecological rewards such as tree planting, removing plastic from the ocean, or sequestering carbon from the atmosphere.

  • Think green

Sometimes it’s the little things that help; can you take public transport or car share when attending our events? Can you fill your reusable water bottle rather than grab a plastic cup?

  • Environmental policy

This Environmental policy extends to event staff, and through the wider business.

Really well run. Lush route. James G

I entered this race because I love running along the Thames path. The scenery didn't disappoint, heading from Marlow towards Henley around the Flowerpot Pub and back to Marlow all along the Thames Path.

The marshals were excellent and friendly throughout three aid stations for a half marathon, which were well stocked with water, bananas and oranges; the signposting was excellent throughout never once did I feel that I was going the wrong way, which you can occasionally have with a trial running where you think you might have gone off track and there is another signpost for a few hundred meters.

The event started bang on time and ran smoothly. They had great post-race recovery snacks and drinks as well as a cool wooden medal. Definitely one for the race calendar next year. Liam T
