This event is part of The Palace Walk & Palace to Palace Bike Ride.
You need to be confident to ride on open roads and in traffic. All riders are chip-timed but Palace to Palace is not a race, most people take part to enjoy a fun cycle ride! Many participants are not experienced cyclists, but some people who take part are experienced and try to beat personal best times. Advanced cyclists are encouraged to take part in the Ultra.
Finish times vary greatly with some riders finishing in just a couple of hours whilst others take all day. There is no rush but the finish festival does close at 17.00. If you think the ride will take you most of the day, start in one of the earlier waves.
Road bikes, mountain bikes, handcycles, e-bikes, tandems.
All bikes need to be in good working order and will be checked at the start line before you set off.
Fans are encouraged to meet you at the finish so they can cheer you on as you cross the finish line and watch you collect your fantastic medal. The finish festival includes live music, children's entertainment, a bar and plenty of food stalls so you can lay back and relax after your challenge!
Sadly, the Racecourse does not allow dogs on site so you will not be able to walk with a dog. However, guide dogs are permitted.

They help those from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.
The courses offered by The Trust help young people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work and access job opportunities. They support them to find work because having a job or running a business can lead to a more stable, fulfilling life.
Since The Trust was founded by HM The King in 1976, when he was HRH The Prince of Wales, the charity has helped more than a million young people across the UK, and three in four of those supported over the last five years have moved into work, education or training.
