The beautiful seaside town of Eastbourne welcomes athletes back for the Eastbourne Triathlon!
Athletes of all abilities and experience levels from novice to elite can sign up to take on the challenge. Starting from the lifeguard’s beach, triathletes will take on an iconic route, swimming against the backdrop of the historic Eastbourne pier, cycling on closed roads through the South Downs National Park and running on the iconic promenade to Holywell, before finishing on the Western Lawns.
One of the most scenic and challenging sprint distance races in the country, Eastbourne Triathlon has won many awards including the Triathlon England Event of the Year Award on two occasions.
2025 start times to be confirmed.
The Eastbourne Triathlon is a great event for spectators, and participants are encouraged to bring friends and family along to watch you race. The location next to the beach is great for the whole family. This year the event will be bigger and better than ever featuring a full event village with a bar, food, ice-cream and various other vendors and stalls.
One of the most scenic and challenging sprint distance races in the country, Eastbourne Triathlon has once again been selected as a British Triathlon Team Qualifier. The 2023 Standard Distance race will be a qualifier for the 2024 European Championship Standard Distance Triathlon.

Great food, great views, great times
Fabulous breakfasts, delicious coffees, relaxed lunches and heavenly dinners. Located directly on the beach, offering stunning views from all table inside and out. The perfect place to sip your favourite chilled wine or enjoy one of the spectacular dishes out on the deck.
Anyone who wants to try a triathlon for the first time. No experience required however you must be able to swim at least 400m unaided.
The 400m swim routes will start from the Lifeguard's Beach and follow a clockwise route. The course will be designed with the current to ensure an easy swim for novices.
The bike route will be 6 laps of 1.5km on a closed-road circuit. The route heads west along Eastbourne seafront for 750m, climbing gradually to the turn point before returning downhill back to the Western Lawms. There is a total of 15m of elevation gain/loss per lap.
The run will be on an out-and-back route, initially on tarmac and then onto a garvel path. There is a very slight gradient heading up to the turn point.

Well organised, a great atmosphere and a beautiful course. Many thanks to all the enthusiastic marshals and helpers, and it’s a lovely touch to have your name printed on your number. Nice T shirt too! Jo D
