Overview

Open to all abilities aged 15+, the course is a firm favourite with both experienced and first time runners, as the fast and flat course is a perfect introduction to road running, and perfect for improving your personal best. All of this, combined with a great family atmosphere resulted in the race being named Best 10k in the Wales two years in a row at The UK Running Awards. Our award winning junior races continue to grow every year and the event is a great day out for the whole family. Introduce your children to exercise with our Junior 1k and 3k fun runs. The 1k is open to under 11’s and 3k to 9-14yrs. Whether you are a Junior competitive runner or are just looking for a fun family day out, our Junior races are open for all abilities. With Mascots and supportive Stewards to encourage participants, our Junior races have a fun, friendly atmosphere ensuring everyone has a great time – and parents are allowed to run with their little ones too! Our junior races are so popular, we were voted the Best Child-Friendly Event in the UK in The 2017 UK Running Awards! The Junior 1k is the perfect introduction to running for your little ones – a fun, no pressure environment, and a distance that’s achievable and enjoyable. For the 9-14 age group and at 3k in distance, this is a great race for younger runners. It offers a challenge in a mixed field and is a great race for building up to longer distances, but most importantly its fun! Being voted as one of the best races in the UK, we aim to be accessible to all, offering a variety of races so that all can get involved on the day! Our wheel chair race is open to all, and is a fun yet challenging race for those involved. The Wheelchair Race will start 10 minutes prior to the main 10k race. We encourage athletes to get in touch in advance of the event to discuss needs and encourage athletes and coaches to review the course. Wheelchair athletes must wear crash helmets – this is compulsory. The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k wouldn’t be complete without the Mascot Race! The Mascot Race features local mascots all running a 100m dash for fun. This great spectacle starts once the last runner of the main 10k race has crossed the start line. The winner is awarded £100 to give to their chosen charity and the race provides great entertainment for the spectators whilst they wait for the first runner to cross the finish line. Spectators can also enjoy mingling with the mascots and learn more about the organisations being promoted.
