Event overview

We have routes for all abilities and the 50km if perfect for those new to cycling and looking to take on their first challenge. Our 100km ride is our most popular event which is suited to novice and experienced riders alike. For those looking for a challenge, we have our 100 mile cycle for intermediate to experienced riders. Distances - 50km, 100km, 100 mile. The exact routes will be sent upon registration with GPX links that can be downloaded. All routes will be well signed. The Highway Code must always be adhered to and cycle hats must be worn. 50km Cycle Sportive - Starting and finishing in Bamburgh, this 50km relatively flat cycle is perfect for beginners and takes in Seahouses, Beadnell and Embleton with views across to Dunstanburgh Castle before heading back to Bamburgh. All fo the cycling is on open roads. The elevation profile is approximately 1,200ft. 100km Cycle Sportive - Starting and finishing at Bamburgh and taking in Seahouses, Embleton, Alnmouth, Warkworth, Amble and Acklington. This route has an elevation profile of approximately 2,800ft across the ride. 100 Mile Cycle Sportive - Our 100 mile route is a moderately hilly cicular road cycle event up & down the Northumberland Coast, which also starts and finishes in Bamburgh. The route takes in all that the 100km does but with a section inland to Alnwick and Eglingham. The elevation profile is approximately 5,200ft. There is a feed station for the 100km and 100 mile cycle sportives at Acklington and there is an additional feed station 100 mile cycle sportive at 78 miles. The feed stations include drinks, pastries, cakes, chocolate and sweets. There is also a portable toilet at both feed stations and public toilets along the route. All finishers will get Wild Deer Merchandise, a Medal, snacks and drinks. There is also the option to buy an event T-shirt for £12.00 when you sign up. Due to the event being on open roads, there is a minimum age of 17 to participate.
