The Junior Fell Race route is a 2km loop from Yorkshire Bridge, including crossing the Ladybower dam, which the winners complete in about 9 minutes.

The race is open to locals and non-locals alike and normally attracts about 80 runners including most of the pupils at Bamford Primary School as well as keen runners from surrounding villages. Parents are welcome to run round to guide and encourage younger children but carrying them is definitely cheating! Registration on the night, £4. Parental consent required for all runners. Age range 4-15, categorised by school year: Infants, Juniors, Secondary. Trophies for first three girls and boys in each age category. Separate trophies for local runners.
