The route has been designed to allow runners to start and finish in our beautiful city where there is plenty of parking available and access to the many cafes and shops that the city offers. We meet in the race ‘village’ which is in Lichfield’s historic Beacon Park, here you will find a great atmosphere prior to the race, with all you need to prepare. The 10k race and Fun Run attract a good level of spectators. The 10k route is predominantly on country lanes therefore most spectators are expected at the start/finish area in and adjacent to Beacon Park, there are also likely to be spectators at the half way point in Chorley. Spectators for the Fun Run can watch at any point on the course. The 10K race is limited to a minimum age of 18 years and is run strictly under UKA rules, this means only bone conductor headphones will be allowed. It is over a measured course and is chip timed to the highest standards. The Fun Run is a route which is entirely within the boundary of Beacon Park. It’s a 2km course which is well marshalled and has its own dedicated start and finish. It commences before 10k so it’s possible to witness you child competing in the Fun Run before competing in the 10k. The Fun Run is not restricted to any age group but any child under 9years must be accompanied by an adult who must also enter the race.
