XTERRA MTB Marathon | 60K Super Marathon

The 2023 edition was also the British Cycling National Marathon Championships! The 2024 edition of the country’s most loved MTB Marathon sees a couple of updates. A change of headline sponsor; a massive thank you to Vittoria UK for the never-ending support but this year we’re welcoming XTERRA to the party. Don’t worry Vittoria aren’t going far, they’re still a support sponsor and will be present in the trade area. However, the XTERRA MTB Marathon is part of the new XTERRA Mountain Bike Weekend, which includes the E-MTB Challenge on the Saturday for our digital friends. A slightly revised course; having listened to your feedback and pedalled a lot more miles at Pippingford we have decided to remove a couple of the really tough climbs and shortened a smidge, down to 15km, hence the adjustment of the total distances. Hopefully these small changes make the course even more fun, without quite so much pain! The XTERRA MTB Marathon appeals to all mountain bikers, regardless of experience or ability. Stunning location with varied terrain making one of the best mountain bike courses around, with something to challenge everyone. The event takes places on an exciting and innovative course, enabling close battles throughout the field. The route is a figure of eight that passes through the arena area twice per lap, and features a purpose-built bridge in the centre of the race village that riders will thunder over. This will be great fun for riders and supporters alike as well as offering more access to technical support. Expect a mix of thrilling singletrack, woodland trails, heathland, gravel and stunning meadow paths. All totalling up to be a grin inducing 15km lap! All you need to do is choose whether you want to race for 1, 2, 4 or 6 laps. If you want to make the XTERRA MTB Marathon even more fun there is only one way to do it, and that’s with a partner. Find a riding buddy and sign up to the 90km Monster Marathon for Pairs, as long as you both complete 2 laps each you’ll be awarded a finishing position – if you manage to complete all 6 laps between you, the podium won’t be far away!
