We have brought it back to life with an updated, improved route. Our first race was in April 2024 and was a huge success & loved by marathoners of all abilities. The Moray Marathon is the only road marathon in the North & East of Scotland in the Springtime. This is also a fast course for those looking for qualifying times. This race has chip timing, prizes, and a family friendly finishing area for those cheering you on. We hope to make it one of the most loved events on the calendar and a first choice for your marathon in North of Scotland. We aim to keep the event at it's current size to ensure all runners feel supported no matter their race goals- please visit Race Day page for full info on how we can do this (including Elite Support and First Timers). The route begins and finishes at the Morriston Playing Field running track in Elgin. Entirely on road, it takes you up and out of Elgin before descending into a flat and fast route towards Burghead. Passing through coastal towns & villages, including the stunning Lossiemouth, where you will find plenty of local support and spectators cheering you on along the picturesque marina and beaches. The route continues out onto B roads before hopping on to the cycle path into Cooper Park, where you will complete your victory lap around the Morriston Track and through the finish line.
