The Christie Tower Run is back for the 6th time!

This challenge is Manchester’s only tower running event, and is open to all abilities, making it perfect for everyone from seasoned athletes to casual walkers.

46 floors

After you have conquered the 46 floors, join the team in celebrating your incredible achievement at the renowned Cloud 23 bar and taking in the spectacular view of the wonderful city.

On the day

  • The time you select during the registration process is your start time. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to register, collect your chipped race number and warm up.
  • The first wave time is 9:30am, with the warmup starting 10 minutes before this. There are slots every 45 minutes to choose from.
  • Participants will be released in intervals within their waves to reduce overtaking and prevent bottlenecks in the stairwell.
  • There are 46 floors to take you up to the top of Beetham, which adds up to an impressive 798 steps!
  • You can run, jog or walk your way to the top – whatever you feel most comfortable doing.
  • Your friends and family are welcome to wait in Cloud 23 to watch as your time comes in, and then greet you with a hero’s welcome!
  • Everyone is welcome to stay in the Cloud 23 bar after their Tower Run challenge to enjoy the stunning views of our wonderful city!

Fitness level

You need to be confident in your own fitness to climb a significant amount of stairs in a relatively short period of time. Participants will require a reasonable level of fitness and should have practised walking or running up stairs ahead of the event.

Spectators

Each participant can bring guests who can wait for you to arrive in Cloud 23. Please inform the organisers if you intend to bring more than 5 guests.
