A Winter Ultra in East Lancashire – a waymarked trail challenge event in the beautiful trails & moorlands of Pendle in the South Pennines
A full circular of the Pendle Way of approximately 45miles with 6100ft ascent (68km, 1870m) and an alternative option of approximately 30miles (4500ft // 48km, 1382m) open to both Runners and Walkers. The Pendle Way In A Day route takes in the villages of Pendle in East Lancashire along the footpaths and bridleways in the picturesque moorlands of the local countryside. The route is fully waymarked with the infamous Pendle Witch although a full map, GPX files and Written Instructions will be provided. Starting in Barley, you'll head through Blacko, to Barnoldswick via Weets Hill, Earby, Laneshawbridge, Wycoller, Boulsworth Bottoms, Catlow Bottoms, Higham, Newchurch and take in a climb up Pendle Hill. The alternative route option will take a modified route of the Pendle Way to Laneshawbridge, then follow the Pendle Way in full.
